Pioneer unveil S-DJ08 and S-DJ05 speakers

Pioneer have announced the newest additions to their DJ range, the S-DJ08 and S-DJ05 active reference speakers.

Developed with the help of artists such as Steve Mac and Paul Woolford, the S-DJ08 and S-DJ05 have been designed specifically with DJs and producers in mind. The two models share the same specification and vary only in the frequency characteristics, woofer size and weight. The 8-inch S-DJ08 will be aimed more at studio use, the 5-inch S-DJ05 towards DJs. Both models are bi-amplifed and improved directivity is said to deliver a much wider sweet spot.

A new inclusion for Pioneer is a linear equalizer which allows users to adjust high and low frequency bands to optimise the tonal quality of instruments or alternatively to recreate bassy club sound systems. However, it’s the introduction of a manual controller which is perhaps the standout feature of the system. Pioneer have enabled the user to control volume, audio input routing and equalizer all from one remote location.

Pioneer will release the S-DJ08 in December 2010 and the S-DJ05 in January 2011 at a suggested retail price of $1,199/pair and $899/pair respectively
